Typische Selbstein/überschätzung in Singapur

Singapur hat letztes Jahr beschlossen auf der Vergnügungsinsel Sentosa ein Casino zu bauen. (Es wurde ernsthaft vorgeschlagen und "diskutiert" keine Singaporeans sondern nur Ausländer spielen zu lassen)
Jetzt hat man beschlossen ein zweites Casino mit Hotel zu bauen. In der Lokalen Presse liest sich das dann folgendermassen:

The Singapore government is to award a contract this year to build a second resort [...]
The construction will put Singapore alongside Las Vegas and Macau as a top destination for tourists and business travellers. [...]
Las Vegas is traditionally the gambling capital of the world, but these days the face of the casino industry is changing. [...]
Singapore hopes that by developing integrated resorts similar to those found here in Las Vegas, it'll be able to compete with some of the top destinations in the world for the tourist dollar.
[...]

Selbst wenn die hier die ganze Insel mit Casinos und Hotels zupflastern kommt das alles nicht mal annähernd an Las Vegas ran. Vieleicht Atlantic City? Und ich bezweifle das Potenzial Singapurs als Touristenmagnet. Jede Menge Chinese Uncles die hier zum Zocken herkommen kann ich mir allerdings schon vorstellen...
Auf jeden Fall ist sicher das die Casinos Weltklasse sein werden, denn wenn hier was gemacht wird, dann richtig!
